Fashion at the Neighbors’- Trunk Show Til Feb 8

Here is a recent article from the Larchmont newspaper that talks about the high quality of Etcetera Clothing.

How do women juggle the demands of their families and jobs with the desire to dress fashionably and affordably?

In Larchmont, some women are heading to their neighbors’ homes (or a tent outside Plates Restaurant) to shop at intimate trunk shows.

Larchmonters Colette Rodbell and Melissa Schoen, long-time friends and working mothers themselves, had experienced the convenience of trunk show shopping and decided to combine forces to bring the option to their neighborhood.

“We chose Etcetera, a contemporary women’s fashion line sold via trunk shows four times a year because of the extremely high quality of the clothing and the reasonable price point,” said Ms. Rodbell, who has been holding shows in her Larchmont home for five years.

My wife is a great dresser! She really knows how to put some outfits together. She wears lots of CAbi clothes (Carol Anderson By Invitation) and Etcetera clothes.

Over at my other website I have been posting some pictures of her in CAbi outfits. Well today she is wearing a great looking pair of Etcetera pants.

She is also wearing a great looking blouse from Audrey Talbott. This shirt retails for about $225 but she got it for $45.

She is saving us into prosperity!

So here you go Etcetera fans!

SF Article about the Success of Etcetera Clothing

As most people know, Etcetera clothing is sold at in-home shopping parties only. In this article at the San Francisco Chronicle, Sylvia Rubin talks about how successful Etcetera has been and the future of direct selling. Here’s an excerpt:

Four times a year, Liz Parkinson turns the living room of her Cow Hollow home into a cheery boutique for the latest shipment of Etcetera, a 10-year-old apparel company. This week, she’s showing the spring line, a colorful all-American tailored, feminine sportswear collection with a retro bent – think Tory Burch meets Michael Kors.

With consumers fleeing the upscale department stores, direct-sale companies like Etcetera hope that a growing number of shoppers with comfortable incomes will turn to private trunk shows instead, where the ambience is cozy, the choices aren’t overwhelming, the service personal and the prices less shocking than at the mall.

Etcetera’s pieces are in the $200 to $400 range, and they appeal to clients like Ana Dierkhising, a 40-year-old San Francisco real estate agent, size 10, who likes the convenience, the down-to-earth selections and the variety. “I have to wear black pants two or three days a week, and need a great jacket or top to go with them; I always find something.”
